Embracing Your Ordinary: Expecting the Extraordinary

Two and a half years ago, I wrote my first email newsletter. I was nervous and second-guessing my dream of writing and sharing my journey with others, assuming that someone more qualified or competent should be the one sharing and not me. Today, as I post my first blog, I feel a lot of those same doubts and insecurities. I mean, I am just a regular 24-year-old girl trying to figure out life. But I am tired of fear keeping me from following my dreams.

I originally started my newsletter, Keeping It Real With LW, to share with my close friends and family about my volunteering experience in an orphanage. I wanted people to see the reality behind mission work. There are so many fun and encouraging moments and equally as many confusing and painful moments. Most of all, there are a lot of ordinary moments that include boring things like doing chores, grocery shopping, taking a nap, getting annoyed with people... you get the point. Yet I have discovered that a key ingredient in the secret sauce of life is the ordinary.
It is in the ordinary where I have met incredible people who have taught, encouraged, and challenged me. It is where I have struggled and grown in my character. It is also where I have had the sweetest moments of breakthrough and peace. In the ordinary, I have discovered the way God uses all the seemingly unimportant parts of life to weave together an extraordinary adventure hand-crafted for each of us as individuals.
As I begin this blog, my goal is to share snippets from my daily life as someone who is pretty regular but who also loves Jesus and believes that he has set us apart to partner with him and experience great things. You are uniquely wired by a great Creator who wants to lead you on an incredible journey.
Wonderfully made.
Plans to prosper you.
God's masterpiece.
Abundant life.
Those are just a few of the promises that God undoubtedly will fulfill in your life if you decide to follow him. Be brave. Seek God. Follow your unique dreams. The world needs you to step into God's plan for you. My biggest hope in taking this step in following my dream is for you to be inspired and propelled into following your own. Together let's follow our unique dreams, live an abundant life, and get to know and love Jesus in a real, authentic way. I am so excited for this blog and deeply grateful for your love and support which no doubt has helped get me here. Blessings and lots of love,
LW
